Grant | NSFC Research Funding 2025

Assistant Professor Mirna Zordan has been awarded an NSFC Youth Fund project. Her research focuses on biosensing technologies, responsive environments, and empathy-driven design, using technology as a medium of care to support human health and well-being. The funded project continues this line of work by investigating how physiological signals and interactive spatial feedback can be integrated to better understand stress and emotional states in everyday environments, and to design spaces that more actively support mental and emotional well-being.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China is China’s primary funding body for basic research, established in 1986 to support frontier scientific exploration, foster interdisciplinary work, and cultivate scientific talent. It operates under principles of expert review and merit-based selection, and plays a central role in advancing fundamental research and national innovation capacity.
