Two works accepted to CHI 2026 in Barcelona, including one Paper and one Interactive Demo🎉

Conference | CHI 2026

We’re excited to share that two works from the Future Spaces Vision Lab have been accepted to ACM CHI 2026, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain, from April 13 to 17, 2026. This year’s program will feature both of our projects in two different categories: Papers and Interactive Demos.

The first project, “Please Share”: Promoting Embodied Forms of Interpersonal Stress Sharing Through Real-Time Neurofeedback, has been accepted to the Papers track and will be presented on Thursday, April 16, from 10:12 AM to 10:24 AM. The work explores how neurofeedback can support embodied forms of interpersonal stress sharing. Through the system Minus×Minus=Plus, two participants can visualize collective neural activity in real time and transform stress together through haptic interaction, creating a shared affective space for support and connection.

Our other project, YOU and BLUE: An Embodied Robotic Agent for Diaphragmatic Breathing Retraining through Closed-Loop Physiological Computing, has been accepted to the Interactive Demos track and will be exhibited during three demo sessions:

  • Monday, April 13, 6:00 PM–7:30 PM;

  • Tuesday, April 14, 4:30 PM–6:00 PM;

  • Wednesday, April 15, 2:15 PM–3:45 PM.

This project presents an embodied robotic agent designed to support diaphragmatic breathing retraining through real-time physiological computing, combining respiratory sensing, closed-loop feedback, and a narrative-driven interaction scenario.

We’re really happy to see these two projects represented at CHI 2026. Although they take different forms, both reflect our ongoing interest in physiological computing as a meaningful way to support health, regulation, and human connection through interaction design. Look forward to sharing them with the CHI community in Barcelona, and warmly welcome to the presentation and demo sessions to experience, exchange ideas, and connect!
