Two fresh posters are heading to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, turning invisible physiological and environmental signals into ice, vibration, and living material experiences 🧠❄️♥️🌊

We’re excited to share that two new works from the Future Spaces Vision Lab have been accepted to the posters program at SIGGRAPH Asia 2026. Both projects explore how data that normally stays hidden inside bodies or environments can move beyond screens and become something we can physically see, touch, and experience.
The first work, Materializing EEG Physiological Stress through Progressive Phase Change of Water Droplets, by Heyue Li, Yufei Hu, and Mirna Zordan, explores how EEG-derived physiological signals can be transformed into both physical ice formations and real-time digital visualizations.

The second work, Ondae: Transitional Interfaces between Cardiac Rhythms and Wave Motion for Environmentally Grounded Visceral Connections, by Zhiqi Wang and Mirna Zordan, brings together heartbeat, water, and haptic interaction. A water-filled tank acts as a transitional interface where cardiac rhythms become tactile vibrations and recorded wave motion is translated back into movement.

We’re thrilled to bring these two works to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 and to continue exploring the space between physiological computing, material interaction, and media arts. If you’ll be in Kuala Lumpur this December, come find us at the posters program. We’d love to share the work and exchange ideas! 💫
